Midway post
We are midway (or so) through our Winter Break so I thought it would be an appropriate time to blog about what we have done thus far.
As you may have read, we all got extremely sick on Christmas eve. It was really strange. Indy had been sick a few days prior with a mystery fever that lasted almost exactly 24 hours, he was completely happy afterwards, just had a bit of a cough. The cough turned into a runny nose and then when we woke up on Christmas eve, he had a fever of 103. So we decided to bring him to the Peds before everyone went on vacay. Turns out he had an ear infection. Meanwhile, I didn’t have a fever, I was just feeling really strange. I hadn’t gotten much sleep the night before and I think that my body figured out that it didn’t have to keep running on adrenaline (which is what I feel like it always does) and so once it got a break, it decided to break down. Keith had a slight fever and was extremely nauseated.
So we got meds for Indy and then we all went home and slept for a few hours. When I woke up, I felt much better but everyone else was still ill. This meant having to skip our annual mid-night Christmas celebration/sleep over at my moms which we look forward to all year. It’s really, really fun. I was so bummed. We ended up opening a few gifts together on Christmas eve once we all regained consciousness. The next day, we went over to my moms where the rest of my family still was and opened the rest of Indy’s gifts. We were all fever free and feeling much better. It was so strange. We ended up going on a quadruple date, sisters with husbands and little sam with his gf. We went to see Mission Impossible 4 which was fun.
Anyway, here’s what we all got:
Indy got:
A Thomas the Tank Engine tent
A wooden work bench thing
A bunch of new books for his Tag Reader
Diego Underwear
A bunch of pajamas
Some new Converse
Chuck Truck Racing set thing
A night light that projects images on the ceiling and actually works really well
A Thomas bedset
No clothes and no more trains…I was thankful for this!
Keith and I got:
Keith- a wireless printer from my parents
The Stephen King book about the JFK assassination
A subscription to HBO (from me)
A new wedding ring (from me)
Elise- an iPad2- from my parents WOOT WOOT!
Some earrings from Keith that I saw online that when I got in real life weren’t all that great, so I’m gonna return them
A gift card to Aveda
Spa Day on Thursday! I’m excited, I’ve never been to the spa before so it’s actually happening for me!
We are so amazingly blessed. My family is so great and I am so happy to have a job that pays me to sit around the house and vege out.
More later!
